Meet Aniket. Twenty-seven, techie, Mr. Average. His best friend is Subbu, a nerd who breathes, thinks and lives code. Aniket cannot believe his luck when he starts dating Trish—a stunning, sexy model, who is totally out of his league. But Trish has a list of things she wants him to work on, beginning with his pot belly and his geekiness.

Then there’s Nidhi, thirty-two, who has quit her corporate job to follow her passion. She is engaged to Manoj, Mr. Perfect—except for one aspect.

Aniket and Nidhi meet on a train, a chance encounter, and she agrees to become his ‘relationship coach’. It’s a decision that sets into motion a chain of events that will have a profound impact on the lives of all involved.

One man, two women, and the trap called Destiny.

Some things, they say, are all in the planets.

My views:

All of Preeti Shenoy's books receive mixed reviews from the readers. I like her books because of her understanding of human relationships.
The language of all her books is simple, the story often predictable but each book gives us something to think about.
There is a reason why she is where she is - among the top five highest selling authors in India.

About this book in particular. I had pre-ordered the paperback and had read a few pages as soon as I had received it and then I kept it aside; like I had done with last couple of books of hers. I knew there would be a right time to read the book.
Three days ago I needed a break and this book was the first one that came to my mind.
I purchased a kindle version and started reading.

I like the way each chapter is dedicated to a protagonist's perspective and the way it starts - with daily forecast.
First few chapters seem repetitive because the author has tried to present a different protagonist's point of view of the same situation but I like how it changes in the rest of the chapters where one protagonist kind of picks up from where the other one has left of.

There are 'quotes'/phrases scattered throughout the book, which (as seen in kindle) people have highlighted but I couldn't find one to note down (I always sit with a pen and paper when I read her books).

As always, the author has done justice to the description of characters, their thoughts and emotions and the details of places.
The story flow is smooth, language is simple as mentioned before and I found myself reading it non-stop until I was too tired to continue.
At one point I felt the story was becoming too predictable but then came the twist! The kind that makes you say 'fuck'/'shit' (whatever you prefer).

The love-note at the end reminded me of letters from Nicholas Sparks books. It's good but did not make my heart skip a beat the way Nicholas' letters manage to.

The goodreads ratings for this book range from one star to four or five stars. I have rated it five because of the timing I chose to read the book. There are some books you turn to when you need to divert your mind to stay sane; this one is definitely 'that' book. Also, I love the way the author expresses in words human emotions (especially hurt/pain) and deals with minute details of human nature and understands human relationships.

If I have to rate the book based on the plot - maybe I might cut down to 3.5
But a book is lot more than just a plot. How a predictable story is presented is important too.

I would recommend this book to my readers; but if you are one of those who have read all her previous books then you might have too many expectations from this one. Don't. Read it as if this is the first book of the author that you have chosen to read.
